Please look at the link and make the need for prayer known. He has been battered by the press and this will be un-relenting. Physical danger cannot be dismissed. There will, no doubt, be those who report him to Medical Board.

How can it be that our MPs can ignore the evidence from overseas (and here) that enshrining same-sex marriage in law will be harmful for our society?

How can it be that so many of our church people cannot see that it would interfere with our right to bring up our children in accord with our beliefs?

And interfere with our right to choose Christian teachers in our Christian schools?

How can it be that many Christians cannot see that it would even restrict our freedom to say – or even just admit – what we believe?

And ultimately result in increasing persecution against Christians including workplace advancement and even employment? And targeting of businesses where owners have dared to say – or even just admit – that they believe marriage should be between a male and a female and that children should ideally have both a mother and a father?

Dear Christian, please do not underestimate the severity of this spiritual attack on our faith and the future of the church in Australia and the future of our nation. It is an attack against our Creator God and His creation. Once again I quote John Yates

“the oppositional but complementary nature of heterosexual gender identity is written into the very framework of the order of the universe and the peak of the Creator’s genius. The challenge is far more profound than most Christians realise. This is a claim (for same-sex marriage) that God did not create His Image as male + female, it is an attack on the very existence and nature of God. The spiritual warfare around this issue is very intense.”

Remember, if we lose this battle it will be impossible to reverse it. For our children’s sake we must resist it and realise once again that

“our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers,
against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armour of God…  and stand firm… and pray” (Eph 6)

Here, we enter upon the conundrum. We subtitled this article, The Antipodes of Humanism, and we did so for this reason – Humanism cannot reconcile its two great mantras!

…the fruit of Humanist philosophy is rancid, unpalatable, and poisonous. It does so precisely because it proves that the two great Humanist mantras of Religious Freedom and Equality are completely incompatible. It proves that Humanism cannot guarantee everybody’s freedom. At some point, a person’s ideology (religion) is going to clash with another’s ideology as the fruits of that ideology (actions) are put on display.

This past week has seen the outrage generated by parents of donor and invitro-fertilization children following a now-infamous Panorama magazine interview conducted with the fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana, wherein Domenico Dolce proclaimed, “You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be. I call children of chemistry, synthetic children.”
