EASTER and ANZAC

The words are immortal: Greater love hath no man more than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

They apply, so aptly, to all those who have given life for friend and country – for peace and security.

And we rightly celebrate the fallen with this epitaph.

May we always do so and may we preserve the ability to so apply.

As we ponder this may we also remember, this Easter, the author of these words, the Son of God who took on flesh and who lay down His life because of His love for us. The Son of God became the Son of Man so the sons of men could become the sons of God. C.S. Lewis.

The triumph of this story is not only the almost unbelievable greatness of this love but also the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and who continues to love us.

Once again, immortal words: I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
