Here in Australia we are facing what could be the most critical election of our lifetime. Some stated policies are the most anti-God and anti-Christian that we have ever seen – a defiant rejection of doing things God’s way, a seemingly total absence of any “fear-of-God” coupled with a determination to do things “my way” regardless of the consequences to our children and our children’s children.
In the lead-up to the Federal Election – I think the most critical in my life-time – the Canberra Declaration becomes even more significant.
83,155 people have signed the Declaration. With the approaching election the Declaration serves as a good intro to what you believe is important for Australia. You can be an ambassador for the Dec and for Christian values and so also for Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Jesus cried over Jerusalem. So we too weep for our rapidly weakening ‘Christian’ culture, the denial and rejection of God and God’s Natural Law in our society.

You might well say “what is the point as I can’t do anything” but at least you then know how to pray intelligently – but it does get overwhelming and our prayers can become groans but God understands and hears our groans. There are times when we have to leave the fighting to Gabriel and Michael.
• Small (but eternal) picture: our kids are increasingly exposed to temptations seemingly approved by community and increasingly mandated by bad government – “Safe Schools” and “Respectful Relationships” now rebadged yet again as “Inclusive Education”; increasing control over what we teach in our homes – even “around the kitchen table” which is where the previous Chair of the AHRC wanted to get – and schools. Erosion of family values. Transgender “rights” with mutilating surgery. The urgency is now.

Join us in a dedication of the year, for ourselves, our families, our churches and ministries, our communities, our nation, our governments, our leaders especially our Prime Minister, our suffering brothers and sisters here and elsewhere, the Islamic peoples, the Middle East, the peace of Jerusalem, our world.
