A “needs to know”. Safe Schools.

There are times when the “needs to know” outweighs the distress of knowing. If the danger is great then it must also be known by children even if the ticket is not given until it is “time to board the train” (Corrie ten Boom’s father to Corrie in Nazi Germany).

For some the burden is too great and we or they only need a little information – enough to pray for strength and protection for the people involved and to engage in sustained prayer to the Lord God of the angel armies. For some it is enough to know that persecution of our brothers and sisters elsewhere is continuing and that it is “bad” without knowing specific detail. There is no such thing as a “weak” prayer by a “weak” person who is committed to prayer at any time of day or night. I thank God for such prayers.

When things are bad, we need concerted prayer by people together to “storm the gates of Heaven” and a commitment by others unable to come. Such prayer should at least be a part – even if small – of God’s people meeting together at a Sunday service. This can be without giving details that might be too much.

Engaging as “prayer warriors” as part of “spiritual warfare” is far and away the most important thing we can do.

But sometimes we need to know and we need to act.

And this now applies to the Safe Schools Coalition. Marketed as an anti-bullying program it is really about normalising aberrant sexual practices. 435 schools across Australia have joined the program so far.

Do you know how bad it is and how bad it will become?

And from http://www.safeschoolscoalition.org.au/all-of-us “Penis-in-vagina sex is not the only sex and certainly not the ‘ultimate’ sex”.

If you prefer not to know more specific horrible detail then at least commit to ongoing prayer for an ongoing battle.

Why? Because it is going to get worse. Remember, permission becomes compulsion. As  in other places, ultimately we will not be able to withdraw our children from such programs and when we respond by home-schooling then we may be regarded as unfit parents and risk having our children taken from us and having to attend re-education programs. Legalising same-sex marriage will make it even harder to resist these restrictions on bringing up our children with our core beliefs and values. See http://www.mercatornet.com/articles/view/to-whom-do-children-belong/17003

The program also includes fluidity of uniforms and the use of change rooms and toilets based on “gender identity”.

The LGBTI influence on schools coupled with the push for same-sex marriage is a sinister attack on children and marriage and family.

Should we respond? As parents – and particularly as Christian parents concerned with the upbringing of our children and in loving our neighbour’s children – of course we should respond. We are to love good and hate evil and to establish justice in the gate (Amos 5:15 NKJV).

So what must we do?  First and foremost we must realise this is a spiritual battle, put on the whole armour of God and be in concerted prayer.

Secondly, we must inform. Let other parents know the serious extent of the problem.

Then we must work together to lobby our schools, the Ministers for Education, the Premiers of each state, the Prime Minister and members of federal parliament. The $8 million of federal funding should be withdrawn. See http://www.fava.org.au/news/2015/why-the-safe-schools-coalition-program-is-unsafe/

And we need to pray for and support our Members of Parliament who fight this battle on our behalf e.g. in WA for Peter Abetz.

We need an army of mothers to act and lobby. In Toronto parents pulled 35,000 students in protest https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/thousands-of-kids-stay-home-to-boycott-wynnes-sex-ed-one-school-nearly-empt

We need an army of teachers who will say this program is not acceptable and is damaging to children’s health.

And we need good people at the level of curriculum design.

But first we need to know.
